The Pullman Black Stealth Barista tamper does more than simply tamp coffee evenly; it also informs you whether you're doing so. TrueTamp circles placed onto the side of the tamper's base let you know whether your tamp is level. This tamper is from quality 304 grade stainless steel and has an anodized aluminium handle. The whole tamper may be cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth after removing coffee grounds. After cleaning, quickly dry the area and avoid using any harsh chemicals.

Adjusting Tamper Height

There are three stackable height-adjustment spacers included with the barista tamper. These provide for a total of 8 different height choices across a 15mm range.

Installing or swapping spacers is as simple as unscrewing the handle. Small hands function well with thin spacers, whereas big hands benefit from larger spaces. This rule of thumb applies to both sizes of hands. It's a good idea to experiment with different combinations of spacers until you find the perfect grip. Spacers that aren't being utilised right away should be stored safely for future use. 

Cleaning Guide

When cleaning acetal plastic or anodized alumimium handles, do not use dishwashers or other caustic or harsh chemicals (particularly bleach or caustic soda). After cleaning, immediately air-dry the tamper. Handles made of wood or leather should be kept dry and should only be cleaned with a wet cloth.

It is not necessary to re-oil the wooden handles since they have been treated with Danish oil and will absorb skin oils over time. Handles with leather wrappings should be treated with a leather conditioner on a regular basis.
